Etna’s family came to Arniston in 1921. Etna was born and raised in Arniston, and her grandmother and father (Koos and Johanna Spamer) was well known to all holiday goers. They owned The Seaview Private Hotel/Boarding House. Etna’s mother and father, Oom Gideon and Tannie Rita owned the only shop in Arniston.
When Etna and Danie retired in 1996, they started Etna’s Accommodation with a mere 4 self-catering houses of friends. They had a dream to make it possible for all people to enjoy Arniston/Waenhuiskrans’s tranquil atmosphere, natural rock pools, incredible fishing, and wonderful weather. This dream grew as other homeowners in Arniston realized that an investment in Arniston/Waenhuiskrans is only payable if you are willing to share it with other people.
Currently the business is run by their daughters, Cornel and Danette. The business is also expanding to other towns in Overberg.
